Cairo 2013

There is this little boyWhile in Lausanne, I couldn’t miss the Sudden Infant performance at Rue du Nord Festival. We met, Joke Lanz and I, last year and got up to all sorts of mischief in Cairo. We share many stories and memories together. I have only known Joke up to now under 40 degrees in the crazy city of a thousand minarets. But I’ve never experienced him on stage. And this evening, what I’ve seen and heard, just blew my mind.Screamed poetry and aerial acrobatic vocals. A perfectly executed performance, deep as the swamps, and light as a popping soap bubble. A man who faces life frontally and stoically. It’s the story of a little boy who I am proud to count as my friend.photo ©Martin Holtkamp

While in Lausanne, I couldn’t miss the Sudden Infant performance at Rue du Nord Festival.
We met, Joke Lanz and I, last year and got up to all sorts of mischief in Cairo.
We share many stories and memories together. I have only known Joke up to now under 40 degrees in the crazy city of a thousand minarets. But I’ve never experienced him on stage.
And this evening, what I’ve seen and heard, just blew my mind.

Screamed poetry and aerial acrobatic vocals. A perfectly executed performance, deep as the swamps, and light as a popping soap bubble.
A man who faces life frontally and stoically.
It’s the story of a little boy who I am proud to count as my friend.
